About Tiny Tycoon 3D
Tiny Tycoon 3D is a spatial shop builder and service sim, and the building is the game rather than the decoration. Between shifts you lay out a boba stand's floor plan in true 3D - where the Counter goes, how far the Shaker sits from it, whether the queue has a lane to walk down - and during the shift a barista avatar physically walks that plan while customers path through it on a real navigation graph. Station placement is load-bearing: put a Boba Cooker behind a wall of your own furniture and the customers who ordered from it are counted as blocked, leave the Counter across the room from the Shaker and every order costs you two lengths of the shop. The carry limit is what turns distance into a compounding cost. Your barista holds two finished drinks until you buy a Small Tray, then three, then four, then six with a Trolley, and each upgrade changes your routes rather than your speed - a lesson borrowed from harvester sims, where truck capacity, not saw speed, is the upgrade that changes how you drive. The shift is three minutes of arrivals followed by Last Orders, the genre convention where the closed sign goes out but the people already inside are still yours to serve, so a good floor plan visibly finishes sooner. Everything then runs through a profit and loss rather than an accumulator: wages for every hire and a lease on every zone are billed every shift, forever, so expanding the floor is a decision and not a reward you collect. It renders in WebGL in a browser tab with no download and no plugin, there is nothing to buy, and no account is needed to play.
How to Play Tiny Tycoon 3D
Between shifts you are in Build Mode, which is untimed and gives you a free orbit camera. Pick a station from the palette and drop it on the floor grid; a ghost outline shows you the route customers would take to reach it, and turns red when the placement walls a route off. Owned stations move for free, so iterate. Then open the doors. For three minutes customers walk in, path through the space you built, and queue at a Counter with a ticket showing the stations their drink needs. Tap a floor tile to send your barista there, tap a glowing station while standing next to it to work it, and hand the finished drink over at the Counter. You can only carry two drinks at a time until you buy a bigger tray, so the shift is a sequence of trips rather than a queue of taps. At 0:00 the doors shut and no new customers arrive, but the shift keeps running until the last person on the floor is served or leaves. The summary then bills your wages and leases against the shift's revenue, scores the floor plan out of 100, and tells you which station cost you the most.
Tiny Tycoon 3D Tips and Strategy
- The clock governs the door, not the shift. At 0:00 the entrance shuts and nobody new walks in, but everyone already inside still gets served - so a tidy floor plan finishes the shift sooner, and the time you submit is the real one
- Your hands hold two drinks. That is the whole reason layout compounds: a badly placed Boba Cooker does not cost you one walk per drink, it costs you an extra round trip every time the tray fills, so the Counter's position matters as much as the stations'
- Moving a station you already own is free and unlimited between shifts. Only unlocking a new type or buying floor costs Beans, so there is never a reason to live with a layout you already know is wrong
- Flow climbs when the route you actually walked for an order is within 20% of the shortest route your current floor plan allows. A cramped shop makes a 3.0x Flow structurally impossible no matter how well you play, which is the signal to rebuild rather than to try harder
- Blocked is not the same as too slow. A customer counted as blocked left because your floor plan had no reachable station for their drink, costs 8 Beans instead of 5, and is reported separately on the summary - it is a bug in the building, not in your hands
- Wages and leases are billed every shift, forever. A Runner at 55 a shift pays for itself on a sprawling floor and quietly loses money on a compact one, so hire against the floor you actually built
- The Layout Score is diagnosis, not decoration. It pays real Beans at shift end, and the one-line summary under it names the station that cost you the most - read that line before you open Build Mode
Tiny Tycoon 3D FAQ
Is Tiny Tycoon 3D free to play?
Yes. It is free on Weekly Arcade with no downloads, no plugins, no ads and no purchases. Signing in adds leaderboard submission, achievements and progress that follows you between devices.
How is this different from the original Tiny Tycoon?
They test different skills. The 2D Tiny Tycoon is a reflex game at a fixed counter: tap the right customer before their patience runs out. Tiny Tycoon 3D is a spatial planning game - the counter position is yours to choose, customers walk real routes around what you placed, and the score follows the floor plan rather than your tapping speed. They share a boba shop and nothing else mechanically.
What happens when the timer reaches zero?
The doors shut and no new customers arrive, but the shift does not end. Everyone already on the floor is still served or still leaves on their own patience timer, and the shift ends when the floor is empty. That is the genre convention, and it is what makes the submitted shift time a real measurement of your layout rather than a fixed three minutes.
What does the tray do?
It sets how many finished drinks your barista can hold at once. You start on two, and the Small Tray, Service Tray and Trolley take that to three, four and six. It is the upgrade that changes your routes rather than your speed, because a full tray forces a return trip whether or not the next order was ready.
What is the Layout Score?
A 0 to 100 reading of the floor plan itself, computed at the end of each shift from how far you actually walked against the shortest route your plan allowed, your peak Flow, and how many customers were blocked rather than merely slow. It pays real Beans, and it comes with a one-line diagnosis naming the station that cost you the most.
Can I move stations after I place them?
Yes, for free and as often as you like, between shifts. Only unlocking a new station type or buying more floor costs Beans. Charging for repositioning would punish the exact iteration the game is about.
Does Tiny Tycoon 3D work on mobile?
Yes, and portrait is the primary orientation - no rotate gate. Tap a floor tile to send the barista there, tap a station to work it, pinch and two-finger drag the camera in Build Mode. Shadows and heavier effects are dropped automatically on phone GPUs.
Can I play Tiny Tycoon 3D offline?
No. It loads the Babylon.js 3D engine from a CDN, which the service worker cannot cache, so this game needs a connection to start. The 2D Tiny Tycoon does play offline once cached.
