How to Play

Accelerate, brake and steer with touch controls or the keyboard. The car drifts rather than grips: lift or brake into a corner to break traction, then steer into the slide and hold the throttle to carry it round. Finishing a race pays out, and winnings buy cars from the garage - but cars are also gated by chapter, so the Turbo Nine at 3,000 credits is unavailable until you have cleared chapter four regardless of your balance. Story mode runs five chapters of three races. The first two races in each chapter open the third, which is a one-on-one against that chapter's rival. Online multiplayer is separate: those races pay and rank, but they belong to no chapter and never move story progress.

About Drift Legends

Drift Legends is a 3D arcade racer with a story mode structured as five chapters of three races each - fifteen tracks in total - and a named rival waiting at the end of every chapter. Street Rookie ends with Blaze, Desert Dash with Sandstorm, Frost Circuit with Glacier, Jungle Rush with Viper, and Sky Grand Prix with Apex, and each chapter's third race is that duel. The handling model is a drift model rather than a grip model: the car rotates past its direction of travel and holds the slide, and the corners are built expecting it. Cars are bought with race winnings and gated behind chapter progress as well as price, from the free Street Kart through the Drift Racer at 200 up to the Turbo Nine at 3,000 - which means the money from a chapter roughly buys the car that makes the next one comfortable, and buying early costs you the car you actually needed. There is online multiplayer alongside the story, and an online race deliberately belongs to no chapter, so racing a stranger never advances or interferes with your campaign progress. It runs in a browser with no download, no launcher and no account required to start.

Drift Legends Tips and Strategy

  1. Fifteen races across five chapters means the campaign is short enough that car buying is the real decision. A chapter's prize money roughly buys the car built for the next one, so spending it early on the wrong car is the mistake the economy is designed around
  2. Cars are gated by chapter as well as price. Saving past 3,000 credits does not unlock the Turbo Nine any sooner - it needs chapter four cleared - so bank only as far as the next car you can actually buy
  3. The handling is a drift model, so trail-braking into a corner and holding the throttle through it is faster than the grip-racing instinct of braking straight and accelerating out
  4. Each chapter's third race is a duel against a named rival rather than a field, which changes the tactics completely - track position matters more than lap time and blocking is viable
  5. Online races belong to no chapter by design, so you can queue for multiplayer mid-campaign without any risk of it advancing or corrupting your story progress
  6. The five environments are genuinely different surfaces, not reskins. Frost Circuit rewards earlier, gentler inputs than Desert Dash does, so a line learned in chapter two will understeer in chapter three
  7. Free Street Kart is slow but predictable. Learning the drift model on it before buying the Drift Racer at 200 is faster overall than learning on a car that steps out under you

Drift Legends FAQ

Is Drift Legends free to play?

Yes. Drift Legends runs free in the browser with no download, no launcher and no purchases. Credits are earned by racing only. Signing in adds leaderboard submission, achievements and saved campaign progress.

How many tracks and chapters are there?

Five chapters of three races each, so fifteen tracks: Street Rookie, Desert Dash, Frost Circuit, Jungle Rush and Sky Grand Prix. The third race of each chapter is a duel with that chapter's rival - Blaze, Sandstorm, Glacier, Viper and Apex respectively.

How do I unlock new cars?

Cars need both credits and chapter progress. The Street Kart is free, the Drift Racer costs 200 and requires chapter one, the Sand Runner 300 and chapter two, and so on up to the Turbo Nine at 3,000 credits behind chapter four. Saving money will not unlock a car early.

Does Drift Legends have multiplayer?

Yes, online multiplayer races against real players. They are deliberately separate from the campaign: an online race belongs to no chapter, so it never advances story progress or carries chapter objectives into the race.

How does drifting work?

The physics model lets the car rotate past its direction of travel and hold the slide rather than snapping back to grip. Lift or brake to break traction entering a corner, then steer into the slide and stay on the throttle. The tracks are built around this, so grip-style driving is slower.

Can I play Drift Legends on a phone?

Yes. There are full touch controls for steering, throttle and brake, and the 3D renderer has quality tiers so it holds frame rate on phone GPUs. No app download or app store account is needed.

Do I need an account to race?

No. You can play the campaign and drive every unlocked track without signing in. An account is only needed for leaderboard submission, achievements, cross-device progress and online multiplayer.
