About Memory Match
Memory Match is a concentration game: a grid of face-down cards, each with exactly one twin, cleared by turning over matching pairs from memory. It runs at three sizes and in three modes, which is what separates it from the version everyone has played once. Easy is a 3x4 board of 6 pairs, medium is 4x4 with 8, and hard is 4x5 with 10. Classic mode caps your moves rather than your time - 20, 24 or 28 flips depending on size - so a wasted turn is a real cost rather than a small delay. Timed mode drops the move cap and gives you 120, 90 or 60 seconds instead. Zen mode removes both and does not score at all, which makes it the honest choice when you want the puzzle without the pressure. Scoring rewards consecutive matches: each pair is worth 100 points multiplied by your current combo, and the combo climbs with every match in a row and caps at five. One miss resets it to zero. There are five card sets - animals, food, sports, nature and objects, fifteen symbols each - so a board you have memorised does not carry over. A daily streak counter tracks consecutive wins.
How to Play Memory Match
Choose a difficulty and a mode, then tap or click any card to turn it face up. Turn a second card: if the two match they stay up and the pair is cleared, and if they do not, both flip back after a moment. Clear every pair to win. In classic mode you have a fixed number of flips - 20 on easy, 24 on medium, 28 on hard - and running out ends the round. In timed mode the clock replaces the move cap, starting at 120, 90 or 60 seconds by difficulty. Zen mode has neither and never submits a score. Matching pairs back to back builds a combo that multiplies each match up to five times its base value, and a single miss drops it straight back to one.
Memory Match Tips and Strategy
- The combo cap is five, and it resets on any miss, so four confident matches in a row are worth far more than eight scattered ones - hold a known pair back and cash it during a run rather than the moment you find it
- Turn cards in a fixed reading order on your first pass instead of tapping around. Position is what you are actually memorising, and a random walk gives you nothing to anchor to
- In classic mode the move cap is only about twice the pair count, so you get roughly one exploratory flip per pair. Treat every card you turn purely to look at as spending part of your budget
- When you turn up a card you have seen before, play its partner immediately rather than continuing to explore - the combo is worth more than the information
- Timed mode on hard gives 60 seconds for 10 pairs. That is not enough to survey the board first, so match on sight and accept that you will be guessing early
- The five card sets exist so a memorised board does not transfer. If you are grinding a difficulty, switching set keeps the layout genuinely unknown
- Zen mode does not submit a score at all - use it to learn a board size without putting a bad run on the leaderboard

How does the combo multiplier work?
Each matched pair scores 100 points multiplied by your current combo. The combo starts at one and rises by one with every consecutive match, capping at five, so a fifth straight match is worth 500. Any non-matching flip resets it to zero immediately.
How is the streak counted?
The streak counts consecutive completed wins and is stored in your browser. Winning a round increments it; failing one resets it to zero. It is per-browser rather than per-account, so clearing site data clears the streak.
Does Memory Match work on mobile?
Yes. The board scales to the viewport at all three sizes, cards are tap targets rather than click targets, and no mode requires a keyboard. It also works offline once the page has been cached.
Why do the card symbols change between games?
There are five symbol sets - animals, food, sports, nature and objects - with fifteen symbols each. Drawing from a different set keeps a board you have already memorised from carrying over into the next round.
