About Bir Glider
Bir Glider is a one-tap paragliding game set over the Himalayas, and its setting is a real place: Bir Billing in Himachal Pradesh is one of the highest paragliding launch sites in the world and among the best known in India. The game runs twelve hand-built levels across four biomes that unlock by distance flown - Bir Valley from the start, Pine Forest at 800 metres, Snow Peaks at 2,500 and Above Clouds at 3,500 - and it introduces its mechanics one at a time rather than all at once. Level one is only flying. Thermals arrive at level two, eagles at level four, and aerobatic stunts at level six, so by the time all three are in play you have already learned each of them separately. Every level has its own objective rather than a distance target dressed up as one: catch a thermal, collect five prayer flags, near-miss an eagle, reach 500 metres of altitude. Each also has three star thresholds, so a level you have passed still has something left in it. The last level is called Only Silence and is flown above the cloud layer. The soundtrack is a procedural Himalayan drone that responds to which biome you are in rather than a looping track.
How to Play Bir Glider
One input. Hold to pitch the glider down and build speed, release to let it rise - everything else follows from managing that trade between altitude and airspeed. Thermals are rising columns of air; fly into one and circle to gain height rather than distance. Prayer flag lines strung across the valley are collectibles. Eagles are hazards, but passing close to one without hitting it counts as a near-miss and is worth points, which is also a level objective. From level six, stunts are available as aerobatic manoeuvres flown with the same single input. Each level has its own goal - a distance, a thermal count, a flag count, a near-miss or an altitude - and three star thresholds above it, so clearing a level and mastering it are different things.
Bir Glider Tips and Strategy
- Height is stored speed. Diving to build airspeed and then converting it back into altitude covers more ground than trying to hold a steady line, which is how real gliding works and how this model is built
- Thermals are the only way to gain real height, and they arrive at level two for a reason - once eagles appear at level four you will be sharing the sky with a hazard while you circle
- Near-missing an eagle is worth points and is an explicit objective on level four, so the correct play once you are confident is to fly close to them rather than around them
- Each level has three star thresholds rather than a pass mark, so a level you cleared on the first attempt almost certainly has two stars left in it. Replaying early levels is the cheapest score in the game
- Prayer flags come in strung lines, so approaching along the line collects several in one pass while crossing it perpendicular collects one
- The biomes are distance-gated at 0, 800, 2,500 and 3,500 metres, so seeing Above Clouds at all requires a flight that goes 3.5 kilometres - it is a distance achievement before it is a level
- Stunts unlock at level six and are flown with the same single input as everything else. Practise them on a level you have already three-starred rather than on the one that asks for them

Rising columns of warm air, introduced at level two. Flying into one and circling inside it gains altitude, which is the only real way to climb. Since altitude converts back into distance later, a thermal caught early is worth far more than the seconds spent circling in it.
How does the star rating work?
Every level has an objective to clear it and three separate score thresholds above that. Clearing a level and three-starring it are different achievements, so early levels remain worth replaying long after you have passed them.
Does Bir Glider work offline?
