2048 is a single-player sliding tile puzzle where you merge matching numbers to create higher values. Created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014, it became one of the most popular browser games ever made. How to Play 2048

Swipe or use arrow keys to slide all tiles in one direction. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile with double the value. Create a tile with the number 2048 to win. Your score increases with every merge.

2048 Tips and Strategy

1. Pick one corner (top-left works well) and keep your highest tile there permanently
2. Never swipe in the direction that moves your highest tile away from its corner
3. Build a descending chain along one edge — e.g., 512-256-128-64 in a row
4. Avoid placing large tiles in the center of the board where they block merges
5. When stuck, swipe in your non-preferred direction as few times as possible
