Cricket Blitz is a free five-over cricket game that runs in a browser tab - no download, no app store, no account, and no ads. It is a batting game built around shot timing rather than button combos: each delivery gives you a window, and how well you meet it decides whether the ball goes for a dot, a single, a four or a six. A full match takes a few minutes, which is the point of the five-over format.

What a five-over match actually plays like
Thirty balls, one innings each. That is short enough that every delivery carries weight and long enough that an innings has a shape, which is why the format works in a browser tab where a full T20 would not.
The innings is split into three phases and they are scored differently. The first two overs are the powerplay and carry a 1.5x scoring multiplier; overs three and four are the middle overs at normal rate; the fifth is the death over. So the game rewards the same thing real T20 does - taking your risk early while the field is up, rather than saving it.
If the chase ends level, the match goes to a Super Over. That is a real tiebreak rather than a shared trophy, and it is the situation the scoring is built to produce.
- Overs 1-2 - powerplay, 1.5x scoring multiplier.
- Overs 3-4 - middle overs, normal scoring.
- Over 5 - death over.
- Tied match - Super Over.
Timing, not button-mashing
The batting model is a timing window. Each delivery has a moment where the shot connects cleanly, and your input is judged against it: meet it and the ball flies, miss it early or late and you get an edge, a dot or a wicket.
That makes the game readable in a way a combo system is not. You are not memorising inputs, you are learning to read six delivery types - straight, inswing, outswing, bouncer, yorker and slower - and improvement feels like actual cricket improvement, because you start picking the ball earlier.
The bowling side works the same way in reverse, and the game punishes a predictable bowler mechanically. There are six delivery types, and repeating one degrades your accuracy from the third use in an over; from the fourth, each repeat carries a 30 per cent chance of being called a no-ball. Variation is enforced by the rules rather than suggested by a tip screen.
Six franchises, and why they are Indian cities
You pick from six city teams: Mumbai Mavericks, Chennai Cobras, Bangalore Blazers, Kolkata Knights, Delhi Dynamos and Hyderabad Hawks. Each has its own colours.
The franchise-city structure is the shape T20 cricket actually took, and it is the format most of the sport audience recognises immediately. It is also the reason a five-over game reads as cricket rather than as a generic bat-and-ball game.
None of it is behind a paywall. There is no team you unlock by paying, no energy meter, and no advertising between overs.
Why play cricket in a browser at all
The alternative is a mobile app, and for a game you want to play for four minutes the app is the worse deal: a download, an install, an account, permissions, and usually advertising to pay for all of it.
A browser game skips the entire chain. You open a link and you are batting. On a work laptop or a managed school Chromebook, where installing anything is not an option, that is the difference between playing and not playing.
It also means the game works the same on a phone, a tablet and a desktop without three separate builds, and there is no update to install when the game changes.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I play a free cricket game online with no download?
Cricket Blitz runs directly in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge on any device. There is no download, no app store, no signup and no ads. Open the page and the match starts.
How long does a match take?
A few minutes. It is a five-over format, so thirty balls per innings, which is short enough to finish in a break and long enough for the innings to have a shape. A tied match goes to a Super Over.
Is the cricket game free to play?
Entirely. All six teams are available from the start, there is no energy system, no paid unlocks and no advertising. Nothing about the game is gated behind a payment.
Can I play cricket on a school or work computer?
Yes, as long as the browser is not blocked. It is an HTML5 game running in a normal tab with no plugins, no installer and no admin privileges required, which is what makes it work on managed Chromebooks and locked-down work laptops.
Does the game need an internet connection?
It needs one. Cricket Blitz draws its pitch in 3D and fetches the rendering library at load, so it is one of six games here that will not start without a connection. The other twenty of the twenty-six play fully offline once cached, so if offline is the requirement, the offline collection is where to look.
